Andrea Knapke, PA-C is a physician assistant at Wheatland Dermatology in St. Marys, Ohio, offering both general dermatology care and a full menu of cosmetic dermatology services to patients throughout Auglaize and Mercer Counties, including Wapakoneta, Celina, Lima, Sidney, and the surrounding west-central Ohio communities.
A native of Russia, Ohio, Andrea brings a small-town sensibility and genuine commitment to patient care to everything she does. She earned her Bachelor's in Exercise Science from the University of Toledo before going on to complete an additional Bachelor's in Health Sciences and a Master's of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston — graduating Summa Cum Laude at the top of her class.
Andrea completed her clinical training at some of the most respected academic medical centers in the country, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Tufts Medical Center. She also dedicated three months to serving underserved communities in rural Maine — an early reflection of her commitment to accessible, compassionate care.
Following graduation, Andrea spent eight years in surgical practice with a focus on cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery — building a clinical foundation that informs her precise, detail-oriented approach to patient care. She later served as a Clinical Faculty member and Director of Didactic Education at the University of Dayton, training the next generation of physician assistants before relocating abroad to Hong Kong.
Since joining Wheatland Dermatology in 2020, Andrea has found her passion in dermatology — caring for patients with a wide range of skin concerns while also offering sought-after cosmetic services including Botox, facial fillers, microneedling, and laser hair removal. Whether you're coming in for a skin check or looking to refresh your appearance, Andrea combines clinical expertise with a warm, welcoming approach that puts patients at ease.
