Microneedling
Microneedling is a method of micro-injuring the skin to create new collagen as part of the wound-healing process. Microneedling is primarily used to treat acne scarring, surgical scars and to provide facial rejuvenation, helping to smooth wrinkles and promote healthy skin aging. It produces a similar result to facial laser procedures without the complications, pain or expense.
Microneedling is performed by twelve very small needles that oscillate quickly and glide over the skin, which has been numbed with a topical cream. The microneedling pen uses various depths determined by the specialist performing the procedure.
The full microneedling procedure feels like a spa treatment: the numbing cream is applied, microneedling performed, followed by a soothing facial mask, antioxidant cocktail and healing serum. The treatment finishes with a tinted sunblock application as an extra protection for the face.
Wheatland Dermatology uses the Dermapen microneedling system and the treatment is performed by Dr. Quinter. The procedure takes an hour and can cause a little redness and/or pinpoint bleeding that heals within a few hours of the procedure. The full effect of the treatment can be achieved in six months; we recommend at least three sessions with four weeks between sessions.
Referral program for microneedling: referring patient receives $50 off of their next full facial treatment; referred patient receives a $100 discount when a package of three full facial treatments is purchased.
